We are very sad to share news that a member of the dance community has passed away very suddenly.
Birgit Roerig was a regular dancer at many Hollywood Ballroom events and lessons.
Birgit loved to dance and loved dressing up. Her wardrobe was beautiful, and she seemed to never wear the same dress twice.
She always looked finished and lovely.
Professionally, Birgit was a scientist, and a PhD in Biology. She was employed as a Business Development Manager at Cote Orphan in Silver Spring.
There will be a Memorial service at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904
on Friday, March 17 at 1:30 pm.
The Memorial service will be followed by a reception at Cote Orphan, 8630 Fenton St., Silver Spring MD 20910

Oracle is a high-energy six-piece band.
They play a large variety of music–songs from years past to the present time.
Each performance is infused with a large dose of fun that becomes contagious!!!!
Several years ago when the managers of Hollywood Ballroom Dance Center heard about the Oracle Band and went to see them at Blob’s Park, they immediately knew this band would be a great addition to the list of live music performers at Hollywood Ballroom. They asked the Oracle Band to perform at Hollywood Ballroom and very quickly, a date was set up.
Now, everyone is looking forward to the band’s next appearance at the Ballroom.
The dance floor at Hollywood Ballroom is 5200 square feet, and that’s plenty of room for lots of dancers:
Hollywood Ballroom regulars, former patrons of Blob’s Park and followers of the Oracle Band.
